Beth and Rip will return for more drama in Texas, as Paramount+ has renewed Dutton Ranch for season 2. The announcement comes with two episodes remaining in the first season.
Dutton Ranch stars Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler. Reilly and Hauser originated those characters for five seasons on the show Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama that ran on the Paramount Network from 2018 to 2024.
Dutton Ranch follows Beth and Rip after Yellowstone
The duo finds trouble in the Lone Star State
After Dutton Ranch, Beth and Rip leave Montana to start a new life in South Texas. Along with their adopted son, Carter (Finn Little), Beth and Rip begin working on building out their new ranch. The duo moved to Texas to avoid the problems they previously faced in Montana. Unfortunately, Beth and Rip quickly learn that Texans can be just as ruthless as Montanans. Case in point, Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), a rival ranch owner who will do anything to keep her power.
Dutton Ranch’s cast also stars Juan Pablo Raba as Joaquin Jackson Reyes, Jai Courtney as Rob-Will Jackson, J.R. Villarreal as Azul Ramos, Marc Menchaca as Zachariah Moss, Natalie Alyn Lind as Oreana Lynn Jackson, and Ed Harris as Everett McKinney.
Dutton Ranch season 1 comes from showrunner and executive producer Chad Feehan, based on characters created by executive producers John Linson and Sheridan.
Dutton Ranch is gaining popularity, similar to Yellowstone. Dutton Ranch delivered the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history with 12.9 million views globally in the 7 days since its premiere on May 15. The series generated 2.9 million total viewers on its two-episode premiere night on Paramount Network. It’s the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023.
According to Nielsen, Dutton Ranch became the No. 1 streaming series based on average audience for the week of May 11.
Sheridan’s empire has shown no signs of slowing down at Paramount despite his eventual departure from the company to NBCUniversal in a few years. Earlier this year, Sheridan launched The Madison, an original series starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. The Madison has already been renewed for two more seasons.
Fans of Yellowstone can also watch Marshals, a CBS procedural starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. Marshals recently completed its first season, which you can now stream in its entirety on Paramount+. Marshals has been renewed for season 2.
Dutton Ranch has two episodes remaining on Paramount. The first will air on June 26, and the season finale will run on July 3. Besides Paramount+, Dutton Ranch fans can watch the new episodes on Paramount Network on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
