The new service, available from today across Asia, Europe, and Latin America, lets guests pre-book airport and station transfers directly in the Airbnb app. It’s not available in the US, Canada, or Africa, yet.

Airbnb has launched private car transfers in more than 125 cities across Asia, Europe, and Latin America, partnering with UK-based airport transfer company Welcome Pickups to add the service to its in-app Airbnb Services feature.

Starting today, guests booking stays in eligible cities, including Paris, Bali, and Mexico City, will see an option to pre-book a private car to or from their listing directly in the Trips tab.

The service is not yet available in the United States, Canada, or Africa, though Airbnb has indicated it plans to expand to those regions.

The feature follows a pilot earlier in 2026 in Europe and Asia, where thousands of guests used the service and gave it an average rating of 4.96 out of 5.

It covers both directions: arriving guests can choose a meet-and-greet option with a named driver waiting at the airport or station; departing guests can be picked up directly from their Airbnb listing.

Bookings are made, viewed, and modified entirely within the Airbnb app, without switching to Welcome Pickups’ own platform.

The partnership is the latest step in Airbnb’s effort to expand well beyond accommodation. The company launched Airbnb Services in May 2025 with ten categories, chefs, photography, massage, spa treatments, personal training, hair, makeup, nails, prepared meals, and catering, across 260 cities.

Private car transfers are the newest addition. CEO Brian Chesky flagged the airport pickup pilot on an earnings call earlier this year alongside grocery delivery as part of an ambition to own the “entire trip,” not just the stay.

At ITB Berlin in March, Airbnb executives described the vision as covering vacation rentals, hotels, and airport rides all in one place.

Dave Stephenson, Airbnb’s Chief Business Officer, said the partnership is “designed to enhance a guest’s stay from the moment they arrive.”

Alex Trimis, CEO of Welcome Pickups, described the integration as bringing the company’s existing airport transfer product “directly into the travel journey.”

For Airbnb, the strategic logic is clear: airport pickup is one of the highest-friction moments in any trip, it happens right after a booking confirmation, and handling it inside the app keeps users from opening a competitor’s product at precisely that vulnerable moment.

More cities are expected to be added throughout 2026.
