4 new Netflix movies to watch in April

Spring is on the horizon, and with it comes a fresh slate of Netflix titles. This April, you can expect to stream a long list of movies, including Netflix’s collection of older releases that are made available on the first day of the month.

But if you’re looking for something exclusive and new, Netflix has you covered on that front with its original films. Here are four new Netflix movies to watch this April.

Feel My Voice

An emotionally-charged melody of lives

If you’re a fan of emotional dramas, this foreign title will be a treat for your senses and heart. Feel My Voice is an Italian drama that follows teenager Eletta, whose parents have been deaf since birth. She soon discovers an extraordinary talent: her voice.

Encouraged by her teacher, Eletta auditions for a prestigious music school and tries pursuing her dreams. However, she is faced with reality when she understands what she must sacrifice: in her pursuit to sing, she might have to leave behind her family, for whom she is the only voice. The film is adapted from La Famille Belier, a French-Belgian comedy-drama film whose English remake, CODA, won several awards, including Best Picture at the Oscars.

Feel My Voice begins streaming globally on April 3, 2026.

Roommates

The boon and bane of college housing

What happens when polar opposites end up living in the same space, maybe for the foreseeable future? Roommates is a laid-back comedy film that tells the story of two college freshmen—all fresh-faced and ready to take on the world—who end up as roommates after meeting at their orientation program.

While one girl, Devon, is naive and hopeful, her roommate, Celeste, is outgoing and confident. As their personalities clash and adapt to one another, they go through the essential checklist of college life together. Tensions rise and hilarity ensues, with their love-hate friendship reaching a boiling point when their personalities clash. Sadie Sandler and Chloe East lead the movie.

Roommates begins streaming globally on April 17, 2026.

Thrash

Another shark movie … or is it?

Shark movies are a unique genre that I can never look away from, whether they’re actually good or devastatingly bad. I’m hoping it’s the former for Netflix’s new shark movie Thrash. Set in a coastal town hit by a catastrophic Category 5 hurricane, the story follows a group of stranded residents fighting to stay alive as floodwaters rise and resources deplete.

But the storm brings something else nightmare-worthy: sharks swarming through the streets along with the floods, turning the natural disaster into a blood-soaked fight for survival. Essentially left for the dead, the residents have to find a way out of the flood and everything it brings, with time running out.

Thrash begins streaming globally on April 10, 2026.

Apex

The hunt is on, but who is the predator and prey?

High stakes, survival, and the thrill of the game: these are what Apex, a Netflix Original survival action film, is all about. The movie follows a risky cat-and-mouse game between a grieving rock climber (Mad Max’s Charlize Theron) and an unnatural predator in the wild—a deranged hunter and serial killer (Kingsman’s Taron Egerton).

With nothing but nature and their own senses to rely on, the duo finds themselves in an obsessive, life-or-death chase through the wilderness, hoping to outwit each other. Apex was shot in the rugged landscapes of New South Wales, Australia, with the rugged terrain and natural habitat being a core element of the thriller’s maze-like setting.

Apex begins streaming globally on April 24, 2026.

DeWalt/ZDNET

Spring means lawn and garden prep and DIY projects around the house. And if you’ve been looking for a handy gadget to help you with small repairs and crafts, you can pick up the DeWalt MT21 11-in-1 multitool at Amazon ahead of its Big Spring Sale for 25% off, bringing the price down to $30 (matching the lowest price of the year so far). It also comes with a belt sheath to keep it close by on jobsites.

Also: 10 DIY gadgets I never leave out of my toolkit

The MT21 has a compact design, measuring just 4 inches when fully folded and expanding to 6 inches when the pliers are deployed. The hinged handle is made of durable steel with a rubberized grip in iconic DeWalt yellow and black, adding a bit of visual flair while making the multitool more comfortable to use. Each of the included tools is also made of stainless steel for strength and reliability on jobsites and in the garage.

The 11 featured tools include: regular and needlenose pliers, wire cutters, two flathead screwdrivers, a Phillips screwdriver, a file, a can and bottle opener, a saw blade, a straight-edge blade, and an awl tool. Each tool folds into the handle to keep them out of the way until needed and to protect your hands while using the multitool.

We’re big fans of multitools here at ZDNET, and definitely recommend this highly rated one from DeWalt.

How I rated this deal

DeWalt is one of the leading names in power tools, and if you’re looking for a handy EDC gadget or just need something for occasional DIY repairs, the MT21 multitool is a great choice. With 11 tools in a single gadget, you can do everything from assembling flat-pack furniture to minor electrical repairs. While not the steepest discount, getting your hands on a high-quality multitool for 25% off is still a great value. That’s why I gave this deal a 3/5 Editor’s rating.

Amazon’s Big Spring Sale runs March 25-31, 2026.
