At first glance, Hulu’s June lineup looks extremely promising. The streaming service has added several movies this month that are celebrating key milestones, including Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (20th anniversary), AI: Artificial Intelligence (25th anniversary), and Independence Day (30th anniversary). All three movies will tap into the nostalgia of each era.
While those movies came out in the past, Hulu will release several new movies, TV shows, and specials in the U.S. this month. One of the shows has been an Emmy juggernaut since its 2022 debut. Other projects to mark on your calendars include a Mindy Kaling comedy set in New York City, a comedy special by Hannah Berner, and the return of a popular dating series.
The shows and movies are presented in order of release date.
Not Suitable for Work
Gen Z takes New York City
Mindy Kaling is on a mission to create TV shows around specific time periods in her life. Never Have I Ever represents Kaling’s teenage years, while The Sex Lives of College Girls honors her college experience. Not Suitable for Work, Kaling’s new Hulu comedy, is an ode to her post-grad life in New York City.
Five twentysomethings — AJ (Ella Hunt), Abby (Avantika Vandanapu), Davis (Will Angus), Kel (Nicholas Duvernay), and Josh (Jack Martin) — are trying to navigate adulthood in New York City’s Murray Hill neighborhood. From long hours and difficult bosses to burgeoning relationships and messy friendships, Not Suitable for Work will resonate with anyone who struggled during the transition from college to the real world.
The first three episodes of Not Suitable for Work are now streaming.

Love Island UK season 13
Return to the villa
Even if you’ve never watched Love Island UK, you might recognize this phrase from social media: “This week, a hot new bombshell is entering the villa.” Love Island UK has infiltrated the United States so much that Peacock is now airing the eighth season of Love Island USA. Most fans will tell you that the UK version is superior to the USA.
Regardless of preference, Love Island UK is the perfect form of escapism. It’s low-stakes entertainment featuring attractive people searching for love and money. You either couple up or risk getting sent home from the villa. Plus, you’ll get multiple episodes a week, so strap in for some reality TV drama.
Love Island UK season 13 premieres on Hulu on June 4.
Hannah Berner: None of My Business
From Summer House to the stage
Hannah Berner is a prime example of how to properly use reality television to springboard a career. Berner first broke out in seasons three through five of Summer House, the popular Bravo reality show. Berner then teamed up with fellow cast member Paige DeSorbo for the Giggly Squad podcast, which recently won iHeartRadio’s 2026 Podcast of the Year.
Now, Berner is taking her humor from the podcast to the stage in a new stand-up special, Hannah Berner: None of My Business. Berner’s unapologetic and honest personality shines in this special. Millennials will get a kick out of Berner’s rant on grinding.
Hannah Berner: None of My Business premieres on June 5.
Alice and Steve
Rom-com? Nope, it’s a “wrong-com”
Jemaine Clement has been making audiences laugh for decades with his signature dry and deadpan humor. Clement’s best projects are his musical comedy Flight of the Conchords and the vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows. I would not have pegged Clement as a rom-com guy, but Alice and Steve give off major rom-com vibes. Excuse me, it’s billed as a “wrong-com.”
Alice (Nicola Walker) and Steve (Clement) have been friends for over two decades. Steve wishes to fall in love. However, he didn’t expect to find it with Alice’s 26-year-old daughter, Izzy (Yali Topol Margalith), which drives a metaphorical stake through their friendship. There is no friendship Bible, but I would venture to say that dating someone’s daughter is a mortal sin. The early reviews are positive, so expect a charming show backed by the innate chemistry of its two leads.
Alice and Steve begins streaming on June 8.

Never Change!
Back to high school with the Class of 2008
What’s the opposite of a coming-of-age movie? Is it regression of maturity? I’m not sure if there’s a proper term for it. If one exists, that’s what I would call Never Change!, an upcoming Hulu comedy. The movie stars John Reynolds, who also wrote the film, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Carmen Christopher, Jo Firestone, Gary Richardson, Topher Grace, and Zach Cherry.
The Class of 2008 at North Meadows High School had their senior year cut short due to a tornado. In a stunning twist, those students must return to school in the present day and finish their senior year in order to graduate. Imagine you had to go back to high school in your 30s. Crazy would be an understatement. That’s the vibe I’m getting from Never Change!, which promises some debauchery, hookups, and redemption. Maybe it is a coming-of-age story after all.
Never Change! arrives on June 17.
The Season
Hong Kong elites battle for power
I’m a huge Crazy Rich Asians fan. It’s such a delightful rom-com thanks to its eclectic cast, beautiful locations, and charming storylines. SK Global was one of the production companies behind Crazy Rich Asians. That same company has another Asian-based story, but this time, it’s a Hong Kong-set revenge drama called The Season.
It’s summer in Hong Kong, and the wealthiest members of society are there for boating season. The Hext family is one of the most powerful groups in Hong Kong, holding events like charity galas and yacht parties. The balance of power is interrupted when a newcomer named Cola (Jessie Mei Li) arrives and upsets the apple cart. It looks to me like it’s The White Lotus meets Succession. That’s not a bad combo at all.
All six episodes of The Season premiere on June 17.

The Bear season 5
Goodbye, chefs
For one final time, we can all scream, “Yes, chef!” The Bear wraps up its five-season run to close out the month. I want to give The Bear its flowers. Those first two seasons are tremendous and deserving of their Emmy wins. I do think it dipped in quality the last two seasons, but I still love hanging in the kitchen with Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Syd (Ayo Edebiri), and the rest of the crew.
It’s a show that never missed a deadline. When it ends, it will have released five seasons in five consecutive years. What a rarity in 2026! As we saw at the end of season 4, Carmy is quitting the restaurant business, so season 5 might be his farewell to the kitchen. I’m sad to say goodbye to my cousins. In the meantime, watch the special spin-off episode featuring Mikey (Jon Bernthal) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
The Bear season 5 premieres on June 25.
More Hulu content to consume
Hulu has some stellar shows that can be binged in one weekend, including Normal People, The Patient, and The Act. If you’re looking for a recent release on the service, try Send Help, a Sam Raimi survival thriller starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien.
